Ananya Chhibba
I am Ananya Chhibba, and my relationship with music began long before I understood what it truly meant. As a toddler, I would hum ad jingles and Bollywood tunes, and somewhere in those early melodies, the seeds of a lifelong connection were planted. But I only understood the power of that connection years later.
At 13, I dreamt of becoming a singer. I auditioned for shows like Indian Idol Junior and Rising Star, convinced that performing on national television was my calling. Some early rounds went well, but the journey ended in rejection, twice. As disheartening as it felt then, those moments quietly redirected me toward something far more meaningful.
At 16, while exploring psychology as a career path, an idea struck me: What if music could do more than entertain? What if it could heal? So I joined my brother and his friend, who had begun shaping the idea of Music Factory, in the cause of using music to impact lives. We began offering music therapy sessions to children recovering from cancer at the Post Graduate Institute of Child Health, Noida. Those sessions changed everything. We witnessed how a familiar tune could light up a child’s face, how rhythm could soothe anxiety, and how music could momentarily lift families out of fear.
For the first five years, I was actively present—performing, organizing, mentoring, and helping shape the ethos of Music Factory. We talked about empathy, privilege, and using music to bring comfort to those who need it most.
Over time, life took me into other professional commitments. While I couldn’t be physically present at every event, my role didn’t fade. I continued to mentor, guide, and support the team from the sidelines—helping maintain the spirit and values that Music Factory began with. As my brother and his friend stepped into the founder roles, I grew into the position of Team Mentor, contributing strategically even when I wasn’t always on ground.
What started as a small group of young music enthusiasts has now grown into a team of 30 young individuals, united by a shared mission: to use music as a medium of healing, hope, and social transformation. Over the past eight years, Music Factory has collaborated with organizations such as Adobe, Chhanv Foundation, and CanSupport, raising funds for acid attack survivors and cancer survivors, and providing music training and therapy to those who need it most.
Today, Music Factory stands as a youth-driven collective rooted in compassion and purpose. And as a founding member, I am proud to have watched it grow into a movement that proves just how powerful music can be when used for good.
Music Factory is a collective of passionate, musically inclined individuals united by a shared mission: to make a difference through the power of music.
