Aartee Chhibba Antal

Mentor

It has been a true honour to mentor this exceptional group of young musicians, who have used their passion for music to spread joy and drive meaningful social change from a remarkably early age. Aryan and Hriday were just nine years old when they founded Music Factory, and they quickly rallied peers to join them—building a student-led movement rooted in creativity, compassion, and purpose.

Given their young age at the time, I took on the role of guiding and supporting them—helping give shape to their vision of a music-driven collective and facilitating early performances and events.

Through their dedication, the children have helped nurture a more empathetic and engaged community—organising cleanliness drives, donation campaigns, and using music as a tool to uplift and inspire.

Watching their journey over the years has been a source of immense pride. Their growth—as artists, as individuals, and as socially conscious citizens—has been nothing short of inspiring. I have no doubt they will carry this spirit forward, continuing to balance their personal aspirations with a deep commitment to social good.

My journey with social consciousness began in 2015, when, I had the opportunity to recite a poem on environmental degradation at an event held at the India Habitat Centre. That day, an interaction with changemakers left a lasting impression on me and quietly set the tone for everything that was to follow.

Soon after, together with my friend Aryan—who also shares a deep passion for social service—we began actively participating in environmental and civic initiatives. At the age of nine, we realized that our love for music could be more than a personal pursuit; it could become a tool for social change. We didn’t want to perform for applause—we wanted music to become a bridge. A way for privileged children like us to connect with, support, and uplift others. We envisioned music as a medium to raise awareness, offer healing, and include those often left on the margins.

That vision led to the creation of Music Factory in 2017. What began as a small band under the guidance of my mother has now grown into a vibrant community of over 30 young volunteers—united by a shared purpose: to use empathy, creativity, and a sense of responsibility to drive meaningful change.

This journey, which began with small, heartfelt steps, has grown into a powerful movement. And as we continue walking this path, I look forward to the many ways we will serve, grow, and inspire—together.

Growing up, the idea of serving the nation and giving back to society wasn’t just taught to me—it was lived every day by my grandfather, a retired Colonel in the Indian Army. His life of discipline, sacrifice, and unwavering patriotism left a deep impression on me. Watching him, I came to understand that true service extends beyond wearing a uniform—it lies in everyday acts of compassion and responsibility.

Hriday, too, was socially conscious from a very young age. Both of us were musically inclined, and music had always been a part of our lives. From the very beginning, we worked as a team—Hriday on the keyboard and I on the drums—finding rhythm not just in music, but in a shared purpose that extended far beyond the stage.

At just nine years old, we began engaging in environmental and civic initiatives. Around the same time, we discovered that our passion for music could be something more than a personal pursuit—it could become a voice for change.

We didn’t want to perform just for claps or appreciation. We wanted to use music to connect with people and extend a helping hand wherever required.

That mission gave birth to Music Factory in 2017. What began as a small initiative guided by Hriday’s mother has evolved into a dynamic community of over 30 young volunteers. United by empathy, creativity, and a strong sense of purpose, we believe in the power of music to inspire meaningful change—and we’re committed to using it as our voice for impact.

Looking ahead, our goal is to take this movement to greater heights—expanding our reach, building meaningful collaborations, and using music to shine a light on causes that matter. We hope to continue inspiring compassion, driving action, and creating spaces where young voices can make a real difference through the universal language of music.

My passion for travel, music, and community service has shaped my journey in deeply meaningful ways. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I was inspired to use my love for music to serve a greater purpose—this led me to join Music Factory. It became a platform where I could channel my creativity into impactful community work, turning music into a tool for healing and change.

What once felt intimidating—like public speaking or taking on leadership roles—has now become a source of confidence and empowerment. Alongside being a vocalist, I also manage Music Factory’s social media presence. Through the group, I had the opportunity to serve as the student coordinator for Chhanv Foundation, an experience that further deepened my commitment to meaningful social engagement.

Being part of Music Factory has been truly transformative. It has strengthened my voice—both literally and figuratively—and continues to shape my dedication to creating positive change through music. I look forward to many more enriching experiences with the band.

I joined Music Factory in 2024, during the Sheroes Donation Drive—a moment that began with a simple gesture of contributing from my own pocket. But what started as a small act of giving quickly evolved into something far deeper and more purposeful.

With my love for technology and understanding of the power of social media, I proposed building a dedicated website for Music Factory and reviving its digital presence. At the time, the group had little visibility online. Recognizing the potential the internet held in amplifying our cause, I took the lead in bringing Music Factory into the digital world.

Today, thanks to this renewed online presence, we’ve seen a significant surge in visibility and participation. More people are now discovering our work, joining our band, and contributing to the causes we stand for. It’s heartening to know that the digital platforms I helped establish are now acting as bridges—connecting us to a wider audience and helping our movement grow beyond borders. I intend to continue pushing these efforts so our message travels farther and Music Factory becomes a global voice for empathy, creativity, and change.

As one of the male vocalists in the group, I also bring my musical skills to the forefront. One of the most fulfilling aspects of my journey has been working with the specially-abled children at Amar Jyoti Charitable Trust. Through music training sessions and gentle, informal music therapy, I’ve had the opportunity to connect with them on a deeply human level—helping build confidence, spark joy, and nurture their talent.

For me, Music Factory is not just a band. It’s a mission—and I’m grateful to play my part in helping it grow in reach, in voice, and in heart.
